FinRatePro ("we," "us," "our," or "the Website") operates https://finratepro.com (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over that information. By accessing or using our Service, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

This Policy applies only to information collected through our Website. It does not apply to information you provide to third-party websites we may link to, or to third-party advertisers and analytics providers that operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through our site.

If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Website. If you have any questions about this Policy or our data practices, you may contact us at any time at contact@finratepro.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways: automatically when you visit our site, and voluntarily when you choose to interact with us (for example, by submitting a contact form). Our calculators run entirely in your browser — the financial figures you enter into any calculator never leave your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

1.1 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit FinRatePro, our servers and third-party services (such as our analytics and advertising partners) automatically record certain technical information about your visit. This includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address (which may indicate your approximate geographic location), your browser type and version, your operating system, the referring URL (the page you came from), the pages you view, the time and duration of your visit, and standard interaction data such as clicks and scroll depth. This information is collected from your browser automatically and does not identify you personally unless combined with other data.

1.2 Information Collected Voluntarily

If you choose to contact us through our Contact page, we collect the information you provide in the form — typically your name, your email address, and the content of your message. You are under no obligation to provide this information, but doing so is necessary for us to respond to your inquiry. We use this information solely to reply to your message and to keep a record of our correspondence; we do not add you to any marketing list or share your details with third parties for their marketing purposes.

1.3 Information Collected by Our Calculators

All financial calculators on FinRatePro — including our tax, debt, insurance, real estate, and retirement calculators — process data entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The income figures, loan amounts, tax inputs, and any other data you enter into a calculator are never sent to our servers, never logged, and never stored. We have no ability to see, reconstruct, or share the numbers you calculate. This is by design, to protect your financial privacy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following legitimate business purposes:

  • To operate and provide the Service: serving pages, processing your requests, and maintaining the basic functionality of the Website.
  • To respond to your inquiries: replying to messages you send through our Contact form and addressing questions, feedback, or correction reports.
  • To improve our content and user experience: analyzing aggregate usage patterns to understand which calculators and articles are most useful, identify broken links or errors, and prioritize future development.
  • To display advertising: serving and measuring advertisements through Google AdSense and similar third-party ad networks, including interest-based and contextual advertising (see Sections 5 and 6 below).
  • To ensure security and prevent abuse: detecting fraud, blocking malicious traffic, and protecting the integrity of the Service for all users.
  • To comply with legal obligations: responding to lawful requests from public authorities where required and meeting our recordkeeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade, or barter your data for commercial benefit. We do not use your data to build consumer profiles for sale to third parties. Monetization on FinRatePro is limited to display advertising that is governed by this Policy and by the policies of our advertising partners.

3. Cookies and Web Beacons

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by the websites you visit. They allow websites to remember your actions and preferences over time, which makes your browsing experience more efficient. Web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs) are tiny graphics embedded in pages or emails that help us and our partners understand whether certain content has been viewed. We use both technologies as described below.

We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: These are necessary for the Website to function. They enable core features such as session management and security. You cannot use the Service properly without these cookies, and they cannot be disabled in our systems.
  • Analytics cookies: These allow us to count visits, measure traffic, and understand how visitors use our site so that we can improve it. The information collected is aggregated and anonymous.
  • Advertising cookies: These are set by Google AdSense and other ad networks to display relevant ads, measure ad performance, and limit how often you see the same ad. They may also be used to build an advertising profile based on your interests (see Section 5 below).

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when a cookie is being sent. Please note that some parts of the Service may not function properly if you disable essential cookies. For detailed instructions on managing cookies in your browser, consult your browser's help documentation.

4. Google AdSense and DoubleClick DART Cookie

FinRatePro uses Google AdSense, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, to display advertisements on this Website. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DART cookie) to serve ads to our users based on their previous visits to our site and to other sites on the Internet. The DART cookie enables Google to serve ads tailored to your interests based on your browsing behavior across the web.

Specifically, Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads). In addition, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or www.youronlinechoices.com.

We do not control the cookies set by Google AdSense or other ad networks, and the use of advertising cookies by these third parties is governed by their respective privacy policies. Google's ability to use information from our site to serve ads is subject to Google's own privacy policy and advertising policies, available at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

5. Third-Party Advertising

We allow third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense, to serve ads when you visit our Website. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. This practice is known as "interest-based advertising" or "online behavioral advertising."

Third-party advertising vendors and ad networks we work with may also use cookies to serve ads. We do not have access to or control over the cookies used by these third parties, and the information collected by their cookies is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties to understand their data practices. We may add, remove, or change advertising partners at any time without prior notice.

Under Google AdSense policies, advertising partners are prohibited from collecting personally identifiable information through our ad units. We comply with this requirement and do not allow advertising partners to collect such information through our Service.

6. Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics, a web analytics service offered by Google LLC, to help us understand how visitors interact with our Website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior data in an anonymous, aggregated form. The data collected — including your IP address (which Google may anonymize), browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs — is transmitted to Google and stored on Google's servers.

Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the Website, compile reports on website activity for us, and provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include secure server infrastructure, access controls limited to authorized personnel, encryption of data in transit using industry-standard TLS, and routine security reviews of our codebase and hosting environment.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately at contact@finratepro.com.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we will promptly delete any personal information we discover was inadvertently collected from a child under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@finratepro.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Because our content is financial in nature, we do not intend our calculators or articles to be used by minors without adult guidance. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise their children's internet use and to discuss financial matters with a qualified professional before any decisions are made.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your place of residence, you may have certain rights regarding the personal information we hold about you. These rights may include:

  • Access: the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification: the right to request that we correct information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure: the right to request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Restriction or objection: the right to request that we limit our processing of your data or object to certain types of processing.
  • Data portability: the right to request a machine-readable copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Withdrawal of consent: the right to withdraw any consent you have previously given to our processing of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@finratepro.com with a clear description of your request. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally 30 days) and may ask for additional information to verify your identity before acting on your request.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), grants you additional rights. Under California law, California residents have the right to: (a) know what personal information is collected about them and whether it is sold or shared; (b) know whether their personal information is disclosed and to whom; (c) request deletion of their personal information; (d) request correction of inaccurate personal information; and (e) opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information.

For purposes of the CCPA, FinRatePro does not "sell" personal information as that term is defined under California law, and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a manner that triggers CCPA opt-out rights. The advertising partners we work with (such as Google AdSense) may engage in interest-based advertising using cookies, but they act as independent controllers of any data collected through their cookies, and you can exercise opt-out rights directly with them through the links provided in Section 4 above.

California residents also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising their privacy rights. To submit a verifiable consumer request under the CCPA/CPRA, please email us at contact@finratepro.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

11. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — EU and UK Residents

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR provide you with specific protections regarding your personal data. FinRatePro acts as a "controller" of the personal data we collect directly from you, and we process that data only on the lawful bases described below.

We rely on the following lawful bases for processing your personal data:

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): for the setting of non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies, where you have consented (or, where applicable, where we rely on legitimate interest for essential cookies).
  • Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)): to provide the Service you have requested, including responding to contact form submissions.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): to operate, secure, and improve the Website, and to measure and analyze usage, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
  • Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): where we are required to retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For the European Union, a list of supervisory authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. In the UK, the supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

12. International Data Transfers

FinRatePro is hosted in the United States, and the third-party services we rely on — including Google AdSense and Google Analytics — may process your information in the United States or other countries. When we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries that have not received an adequacy decision from the European Commission, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

By using our Service, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. We take steps to ensure that your data is protected consistent with this Policy regardless of where it is processed.

13. Third-Party Links

Our Website contains links to external websites that are not operated by us. These may include links to authoritative sources such as IRS.gov, Federal Reserve publications, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the SEC, as well as links to third-party tools or resources. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policy of every website you visit.

Clicking on a third-party link does not constitute an endorsement of that site, and we are not responsible for any information you provide to a third-party website. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected through our own Service.

14. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months for correspondence records, after which they are deleted. Server log data (such as IP addresses and request logs) is retained for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting purposes, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we collect, use, and protect your information.

If we make material changes to this Policy — particularly changes that affect how we handle personal information you have previously provided — we will provide a more prominent notice, such as by placing a banner on the homepage or sending a notice to the email address you have provided (if applicable). Continued use of the Service after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.

16. Contact Information
